Engine cranking and starting in depth knowledge
Some typical values of speeds for the temperature of 253 K are:
(i) Reciprocating spark ignition engine 60 to 90 rpm.
(ii) Rotary spark ignition engine 150 to 180 rpm. (Hi) Diesel engines with glow plugs 60 to 140 rpm. (iv) Diesel engines without glow plugs 100 to 200 rpm.

Starting Mode
During engine starting, the air fuel ration can be as rich as 1.5 to 1 at -36C, and to maximally lean by 14.7 to 1 at 94C temperature;
GM vehicles have a clear mode: the PCM will keep the air fuel ration as high as 20 to 1 for clear the sprak plug flooding when engine speed is less than 600RPM and throttle is held to 80% open;
